Embu-Manyatta road accident has killed five with three others seriously injured.
The Wednesday accident involved a head-on collision between a Toyota and a lorry ferrying sand.
Speaking during the accident, Eastern Police boss Moses Ombati said that the PSV was trying to overtake other vehicles when it rammed in the lorry.
The PSV was travelling to Kianjokoma while the lorry was travelling to Embu town.
The injured have been taken to Embu level 5 hospital.
