Former Cabinet Minister laid to rest in Taita Taveta County

Ex cabinet minister during Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel Moi’s government Mr Eliud Timothy Mwamunga has been laid to rest in Kishamba Village,Salaga location in Taita Taveta County.

The late Mr Eliud Mwamunga was undergoing treatment at a Mombasa Hospital where he was suffering from  gastrointestinal infection.He has passed away at the age of 83 years.

Those present at his burial were MPs Johnes Mlolwa (Voi) Danson Mwashako (Wundanyi) Naomi Shaban (Taveta) and Andrew Mwadime (Mwatate).

During her speech Dr Naomi shaban remembered Mr Eliud as a leader who loved the environment and the people. 

 “We should plant trees in memory of our fallen leader,” she said

Wundanyi MP Danson Mwashako remembered Mr Eliud for his leadership qualities that began when he was 34 years when he won the Voi seat.

Mr Danson hailed the formed cabinet minister saying that it was his efforts that saw institutions like Coast Institute of Technologies were set up.

Voi MP Johnes Mlolwa praise Mr Eliud for puting up schools and water projects back then when he was a minister.
