Fresh charges have been pressed against former Treasury Cabinet Secretary (CS) Henry Rotich in regard to the Kimwarer-arror dam scandal.
The former CS heard the charges levelled against by the DPP who excluded the names of PS Susan Koech and Kamau Thugge as they will now testify against their former boss.

Also excluded from the new charge sheet are the names of the Italians who had previously been mentioned in the scandal and were yet to be arrested and presented in court.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Douglas Owiti, Rotich was made aware that all other details remain the same including witness statement that has been recorded. According to the DPP, they have sufficient evidence to pursue the matter.
The Magistrate advised both parties to prepare their lawyers as not defense lawyer will be allowed to pull out once the case goes to full hearing. He was speaking as he advised the former CS to settle for plea bargaining.
A plea bargain is an agreement entered between the prosecution and the accused where he or she will reveal the truth in exchange for a lessor sentence.
