The office of the DPP has on Thursday seen the conviction of one National Youth Service (NYS )suspect to 4 years in jail.
Mr. Selesio Karanja, a former Supply Chain Assistant has been convicted to 4 years or pay a fine of Ksh 4 millon.
The NYS suspect is accused of fraudulently for inserting the name of Dama Services Ltd for procurement of training materials.
Speaking on Thursday the office of the DPP said “Court convicts Selesio Karanja, former Supply Chain Assistant NYS to 4 yrs imprisonment or a fine of Sh4M for fraudulently inserting the name of Dama Services Ltd for procurement of training materials.”

Prosecution team led by Joseph Irungu proved before the court that Mr. Karanja was the Secretary at the tender opening committee inserted the name of the company even though it had not qualified.
Mr. Karanja is the 24th NYS suspect in the 47.6 million MYS scandal that involved former PS Paul Mangiti. Appearing before the court, Anti-Corruption Magistrate Lawrence said that evidence pointed out that Mr. Karanja had the custody and control of the tender box and bids.
