Former PM Raila Odinga in DRC on African Union mission

Hon. Raila Odinga has landed in DRC in what he said he was on an African Union mission as shared by the former Prime Minister himself.

In his trip in DRC, the ODM party leader visited Ingo Hydropower project which is one of the projects under the union.

“The Inga Hydropower project remains one of the key infrastructure projects within the entire African Union. I had a discussion on its importance and progress with the Governor of Haut- Katanga, DRC, Jacques Kyabula in Lubumbashi this afternoon.” said Hon. Raila.

The news comes a day after the process of collecting signatures required in the BBI report was postponed as confirmed by the National Secretariat in charge of the report.

He continued by confirming that the postponement to pave way for publication and printing of the Constitution Amendment Bill of 2020 that was set to be done that night.

What followed next was a three hour long meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto with the topic of discussion being the BBI report itself.

Reports indicate that the Head of State was advised by religious leaders to have a sitting with his deputy if he intends to unite the country.
