Former President Daniel Arap Moi dies

Former President Daniel Arap Moi has passed away at the age of 95 years.

Breaking the news was President Uhuru Kenyatta who madethe announcement o Tuesday morning to the country.

Confirming the same was his President Moi’s Press Secretary Lee Njiru who said that the former president has been admitted at Nairobi Hospital since October last year until he met his death.

According to Lee Njiru, his health had been improving overtime from using walking aids to a wheel chair.

In 2006, Daniel Moi was involved in an accident that saw him undergo a knee surgery in 2017 to correct the injury.

Following his return from Israel, the former president was admitted to Nairobi Hospital where his personal physician Dr. David Silverstein decribed it as a routine checkup.

Through out his admission, the former head of state received visitors at his Kabarak home including President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM leader Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho.
