Retired President Daniel Arap Moi has been admitted to the hospital for the second time in the month of October.

Confirming for Nation, the former president’s press secretary Lee Njiru said that he had gone for a routine checkup.

Njiru further pointed out that it is necessary for people to undergo checkups just like what the former president is doing.

The second checkup comes barely two weeks after he was admitted at Nairobi Hospital.

A source close to Nation told the media company that the president was on life support machine after undergoing a procedure.

The source further revealed that he had developed breathing problems on Saturday.

Last year, 95-year old Daniel Arap Moi left Kenya for Israel for a knee checkup after he was involved in an accident in 2006.

He was visited by ODM leader Raila Odinga among other leaders at his Kabarak home upon his return to the country.
