Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga meets Mt. Kenya elders

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has on Saturday met Mt. Kenya elders in a meeting attended by his wife Mama Ida Odinga.

In his own words, the ODM party leader hailed friendship as to what led to this moment that he himself cannot explain.

“Muhammad Ali told us “Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It’s not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learned anything.” We are seeing what Ali meant as Mama Ida and I host Mt Kenya elders.” Said Hon. Raila Odinga.

The meeting comes at time when the race to State House heats up with fractions from Raila and Ruto’s camp on each others neck over recent incidents.

Deputy President William Ruto has been questioned over and over again about his source of wealth displayed from the donations he issues out.

Recent clashes in Murang’a county saw various leaders condemn the incident warning a repeat of the 2017 elections if leaders fail to control themselves this election nearing period.

On Thursday a meeting that was set to happen in Nyamira and to be attended by the Deputy President was called off as police stormed the place and ordered everyone to vacate.

Hon. William Ruto condemned the incident saying police action was unnecessary and that he will be there come Thursday next week.

“After consultations with MPs Kemosi, Mose,Nyamoko, the bodaboda sacco and church leadership who had invited us, we have postponed the two functions in Nyamira County to Thursday next week.The disruptive dispersal by police of kenyans engaged in economic empowerment is unnecessary.” Said Ruto
