Four Homabay MCA’s charged with assault,plead not guilty

Four MCA’s from Homabay County have on Tuesday been arraigned in court over the assault of court process server Elvis Ochieng.

The four however pleaded not guilty and were released on a bond of Ksh 50,000 each and sureties of the same amount.

The four namely Michael Odira,Nereah Amondi, Philemon Okombo and Michael Ojala appeared before Senor Magistrate Martha Aguta.

The prosecution team however pleaded with the court to have the four detained as investigations are undergoing but Senior Magistrate Martha Aguta declined the application as the court had no reason detaining them.

How the assault happened.

The four MCA’s are said to have assaulted court process server Elvis Ochieng as he tried to serve County Assembly Clerk Daniel Kaudo with contempt to court order.

The case will be heard come January 2019.
