French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Kenya in the afternoon for a historic state visit.
President Emmanuel Macron was welcomed by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the State House where he inspected a guard of honor ahead of their planned talks.
Welcoming the President of France, Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta expressed how delighted he was to host Mr. Macron and that Kenya and France enjoy a cordial relationship that has helped spur economic growth in different areas.
“I am delighted to host my friend H.E. President Emmanuel Macron of France at State House, Nairobi in his historic visit to Kenya. Kenya and France enjoy a cordial relationship that has helped spur growth in different areas for the benefit of our people.” Said, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The French president is expected to sign agreements with President Uhuru Kenyatta in a bid to show its influence in the East Africa Region.
On the other hand President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to seek France support in the fight against terrorism especial the war in Somali.
Other African countries visited by President Emmanuel Macron include Ethiopia and Djibouti where he held a series of meetings with Prince Abiy Ahmed and President Ismail Omar respectively.
