President Ali Bongo of Gabon has played down an article by Bloomberg saying that he had been admitted at a London Hospital where he is receiving treatment.

In the article, President Ali Bongo is said to be undergoing treatment after suffering a stroke in October during a trip to Saudi Arabia.

The Gabon President calls the statements as hearsay and speculation with no objective information but peddling rumors.

On the contrary the statement clarifies that the Gabon President is in the recovery phase to his full physical abilities.

In addition to that, he is said to be in London at his residence together with his family as he performs routine medical examinations.

“Moreover, the President of the Republic is not hospitalized, as Bloomberg says deceptively, but is in private residence in his London residence where he took a few days off with his family. On this occasion, he performs routine medical examinations and normally continues his rehabilitation.

Finally, contrary to what affirms, misleading here too, Bloomberg, HE the Head of State, Mr. Ali Bongo Ondimba, did not leave Gabon on August 17 to go to London from Paris. This is fake news, a gross and shameful lie.

The Gabonese President, who is at the helm of the country, will be back in his country soon.” Said the statement.
