Gareth Bale on target twice as Tottenham beat Burnley

On loan Real Madrid striker Gareth Bale was on target twice as Tottenham eased their way past Burnley in their Sunday fixture at Tottenham Hotspurs stadium in London.

The host took an early lead in the 2nd minute when Son Heung-min low cross found Gareth Bale who calmly sent it past Pope.

Bale turned from a goal scorer to providing an assist for Harry Kane who doubled the lead for Jose mourinho’s side in the 15th minute.

Sergio Reguilon provided Lucas Moura an assist for the third goal of the match and a comfortable 3-0 victory in the first half.

Bale completed his two goals for the evening when he curled home a Son Heung-min ball after tearing apart Burnely defense in the 55th minute of the match.

The win leaves Jose Mourinho’s side in eighth position with 39 points as Burnley lay at position 15 with 28 points from 26 matches played.

After losing five of their six league fixtures, Tottenham have boosted their chances for a Europa League qualification with the next fixtures crucial to achieve the dream.

In previous fixtures of the day Crystal Palace were held to a barren draw by Fulham as Arsenal came from behind to beat Leicester as King Power stadium.

Harvey Barnes sustained a leg injury as is set to undergo surgery as confirmed by Leicester shortly after the match.
