Garnacho late strike gives Manchester United victory over Fulham

Youngster Alejandro Garnacho netted in extra time to give Manchester United a deserved win against Fulham and sixth consecutive win against them.

The visitors started off struggling at Craven Cottage before breaking the deadlock when former Real Madrid star Casemiro passed the ball to Bruno Fernandes who found Christian Eriksen making it 1-0 to the Red Devils.

At as at the end of the first half, Fulham were obviously frustrated by the fact that they were the better side and failed to convert some of their chances.

In the second half, the host continued to pile more pressure as De Gea was called to action to deny Carlos VinĂcius and Tim Ream from scoring from close range. The same thing happened on the other end as Bernd Leno blocked Elanga and Marcus Rashford.

Dan James broke the deadlock for the host when he found Tom Cairney’s ball to haunt his former club. The introduction of Garnacho changed the dynamics of the clash as he created a chance for McTominay who failed to convert.

His last sprint saw the Argentinian send the ball past Leno and give Manchester United crucial three points sending them three points shy of the top four list as clubs take a World Cup break.
