George Kinoti tenders resignation as Mutyambai proceeds to terminal leave

Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) boss George Kinoti has resigned from his position as confirmed by President Willliam Ruto.

The President also confirmed the Inspector General of Police (IG) Hilary Mutyambai will proceed on terminal leave pending his retirement.

Back in August, Mutyambai handed over his duties to his deputy Noor Gabow as he proceeded for a medical checkup for an unspecified amount of time.

“This is to inform the general public that I will be away from the office attending to a medical checkup effective today, 26th August 2022,”

“In my absence, Mr. Noor Gabow, the Deputy Inspector General – Administration Police Service, will act as the Inspector General of the National Police Service until my return.” Said Mutyambai

In his address, President Ruto also noted that his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua will deputize him in all executive functions and oversee Cabinet decisions.

“He will deputize me in all executive functions, chair cabinet Committees, oversee implementation of cabinet decisions, intergovernmental relations with counties, liaison between government and Constitutional commissions.” Said President Ruto
