Weiss Valentin, a German athlete has been fined by a Kenyan court Ksh 70,000 or serve six months in jail for harassing a Kenyan female runner.
The German who was training in Iten, Elegeyo Marakwet County is accused of being involved in cybercrime as he sent text messages to the Kenyan athlete who is also based in Iten.

The 25-year-old German pleaded guilty to the four charges presented before him by Senior Resident Magistrate Caroline Ateya in Iten.
According to the Magistrate, the messages sent by SMS and through social media caused fear to the female athlete and could harm her life in one way or the other.
Weiss Valentin was then ordered to pay the fine of Ksh 70,000 and leave the country or serve a six-month sentence and get deported by the government.
