Giroud equals Thierry Henry’s goal tally as France beat Australia

France look well in course to record a back to back win like rivals Brazil as they came from behind to beat Australia.

Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud was on target twice as he equaled Thierry Henry’s all time top goal scorer with 51 goals for the national time.

Australia started the clash on high temp and in under ten minutes Mathew Leckie’s cross from the right found Adelaide United striker Craig Godwin who set the ball to the rooftop of the net.

After pushing for an equalizer, Juventus star Rabiot was on target when his header from Theo Hernandez’s cross proved to powerful to stopped by the Australians. Olivier Giroud doubled the lead just before half time when he tapped home Rabiot’s cross.

In the second half, it was a France dominance clash as Australia pushed further back hoping to surprise them on the counter. It was Mbappe who made it three thanks to clinical pass from Barcelona winger Dembele.

Giroud finished off the team’s four stadded clash when his header found the back of the net in an emotional achievement for the AC Milan.The results now leave France on top of their group ahead of Tunisia who have a point.
