The government has hinted at hiring 1,000 health workers if the need arises to combat the deadly coronavirus.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the plan is in play by the government when the need arises moving forward as he confirmed at the moment there are enough health workers at national hospitals.

The CS was speaking as he thanked how none of the workers has so far not been infected as has been the case in other countries.

The government is also in the process of manufacturing some of the essential goods including masks, protective gears and ventilators.

This is to ensure that they can adequately combat the virus and infections if Kenyans themselves have some of the essential goods including masks.

CS Kagwe denied allegations of some people being let out of isolation centres out of favor saying that even some of his friends have their sons in the facilities.

Politicians have been warned against taking political advantages and issuing numbers contrary to what is supposed to be announced.
