Governor Ferdinand Waititu surrenders to EACC

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has on Sunday surrendered himself to Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Governor Waititu surrendered himself following a warrant of arrest issued against him by DPP Noordin Hajji on Friday over issuance of irregular tenders amounting to Ksh 588 million.

Also implicated in the scandal is Susan Wangari, wife to the Kiambu Governor who is still at large

DPP Hajji said he was confidence he has enough evidence to prosecute the Governor, his wife and 12 others over irregular tenders in the construction of infrastructures in the County.

Three suspects have already been arrested and they include the Director of Testimony Enterprises Ltd Charles Chege, Evaluation Committee Members Joyce Ng’ina and Simon Kabocho.

The accused will be charges with abuse of office, conflict of interest and failure to comply with procurement law.
