Governor Nassir denies pledging to protect Joho’s legacy

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir has denied allegations that he pledged to protect the legacy of his predecessor Ali Hassan Joho.

This follows an article by NTV that confirmed that the new Governor has stalled all new projects until all existing projects initiated by his predecessor are completed.

Taking on social media, Governor Nassir asked the NTV to provide a record of a past interview where he made the claims.

“Dear NTV Kenya kindly advice when you interviewed me and came up with this story.” Said Hon. Nassir.

According to the article, Nassir also promised to settle Ksh 4.2 billion pending bills immediately after an audit is done.

“I’ve directed that there be a temporary suspension of new projects until we have a substantive way forward on the completion of old projects and the issue of pending bills,”

“I shall continue with the work started by Mr. Joho and rectify. We will be learning from his legacy,” said Nassir as revealed by NTV

All eyes are currently on the new Mombasa Governor given the controversial leadership of Ali Hassan Joho who is also a close friend of Hon. Nassir.

Mombasa residents are also looking forward to a number of developments including the availability of water in houses and cleanliness in major parts of the town.
