Migori Governor Okoth Obado has on Tuesday recorded a statement at the Kisumu Criminal Investigation offices in regard to the death of Sharon Otieno.
The governor who has been linked to the mysterious murder of the Rongo university lady was summoned by detectives from the department of criminal investigations. Governor Obado arrived at the Kisumu regional offices and headed to the DCI offices.
Mr. Obado who is yet to publicly speak on the death of Sharon Otieno, has been communicating through his spokesman Nicholas Anyuor saying that the governor should not be dragged into the issue but let the investigations reveal the real perpetrators.
The death of Sharon Otieno led to the arrest of Mr. Obado’s personal assistant who is currently being held as investigations continue.
The Directorate of criminal Investigations has since stepped in to let the governor record a statement as to what he knows concerning the murder.

According to the late Sharon’s mother, Mr. Obado had an affair with her daughter, promised to award her county tenders and he knew that her daughter was pregnant with his child. In regard to the tender promises, Sharon was never given despite registering a company.
Women Representatives from western region have come out condemning the murder and calling for justice into the death of Sharon Otieno.
Speaking from Mombasa, DPP Noordin Hajji promised to take action on whoever will be found guilty irrespective of their positions.
The DPP was speaking after meeting the human rights group that was condemning the killing of two boys in Mombasa last week.
Kenyans have also piled pressure on the law enforcers not to let this case go away without getting the real perpetrators.
Condemning the killing was ODM leader Raila Odinga who called for proper investigations to be conducted.
At the time of her death Sharon was seven months pregnant.
She has left behind two children.
