Wednesday has been announced a public holiday for Nandi County workers.
Speaking from Nandi, Governor Sang extended the nationwide holiday to Wednesday to mourn former President Daniel Moi.
“Further, to allow our county staff to join the rest of the country during the funeral service, I have officially declared a break from duties on Wednesday.”

Governor Stephen Sang condoled with the family of Moi as he opened the condolence book to members of the public.
“Led the People of Nandi in mourning the passing of the Late Rtd. President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi by signing the condolence book.

Burial plans set by the government
Sang was speaking at a time when the government had already announced some of the plans they have during his burial.
Rift valley Regional Commissioner announced they will provide free sodas, bread, and water for 30,000 mourners who will attend the burial in Kabarak.
He further confirmed that transport will be provided by Nakuru County to accommodate those traveling.
