Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has on Sunday canceled the business permit for Chandarana Foodplus Supermarket after racist claims emerged.
On Sunday the supermarket was forced to apologies after a new employee in the marketing department exposed the company following an email that was targeting white people.
“We are delighted to inform you that our supermarket chain would like to give you free vouchers to winner/raffles/best performer/runners up candidate in upcoming events. As we are now focusing on white people to attract our supermarkets,” read part of the email.
In their defense, the supermarket heads blamed the marketing staff for her lack of proficiency in the English language.

Taking no excuses, Governor Sonko revoked business permit for the supermarket but has received a backlash from legal experts saying that the governor has no power to issue such order.
Speaking on Monday, the legal experts said there are legal procedures that could have been taken to deal with the issue.
They claim the governor had a choice had a choice to prosecute the supermarket owner and let the court make a decision.
Speaking on Citizen Tv on Monday morning, Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo said that Governor Sonko should first seek legal guidance before taking any actions. Nairobi County Speaker during the interview Beatrice Elachi posed a question for people to first ask themselves whether the governor received any legal advice before making such actions.
