Sonko secures release of baby held over Ksh 56k bill

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has on Monday come to the rescue of a baby held over an outstanding bill of Ksh 56k.

Governor Mike Sonko through his team secured the release ofa mother and her baby held at Kenyatta National Hospital.

The woman and the baby were held over an outstanding bill ofKsh 56k that prompted the father to sneak the baby out of the hospital.

Unfortunately Boniface Murage was caught by the guards incharge leading to his arrest.

Appearing at Milimani Law Courts, Mr. Boniface pleadedguilty of his crime admitting that he had no money to settle the bill.

The story that went viral on Monday caught the attention ofNairobi Governor Mike Sonko who sent his team to the hospital.

They managed to settle the bill and did some shopping forboth the mother and the baby.

Speaking after the release Mike Sonko said “After visiting Kenyatta National Hospital for the release of Agnes we are now doing the Shopping for the mother and her innocent child.

We are also following up with Boniface Murage Wangeci who was arrested and presented before milimani law courts for trying to smuggle his daughter out of Kenyatta National Hospital as he couldn’t raise ksh 56,000 bill.

He is only 22yrs and jobless but the love for his daughterforced him to mess the law just like any father.He pleaded guilty and the courtis set to sentence him tomorrow.The man never involved himself in crime orunlawful deals.” Said Governor Sonko
