Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is set to announce his Deputy Governor a year after the resignation of Polycarp Igathe.
Speaking from Mombasa, Mike Sonko confirmed major reshuffles in his cabinet that will also be announced come Friday 11th January.
The Nairobi Governor failed to make any announcements yet reasons being that he is in another county. He urged people to wait until Friday when the big announcements will be made.
The Deputy Governor position fell vacant in January 2018 following the resignation of Mr. Polycarp Igathe. Mr. Igathe resigned on grounds that he did not earn trust from the Governor.
Several officials and County Executive Committee (CEC) have been suspended or resigned ever since. Some of the suspended CEC include Emma Mukuhi, Danvas Makori and Veska Kangogo.
In October last year job advertisements were put by the Nairobi County Public Service Board with the candidates meant to replace the sacked CEC.
Mike Sonko has received immerse pressure to announce his deputy. An attempt by the Governor to settle for Miguna Miguna as the deputy was rejected by the County Assembly.
