Governor Stephen Sang charged and released on Ksh1M bond

NandiGovernor Stephen Sang has on Tuesday been charged for the destruction of Kibwaritea estate in Nandi hills.

Appearingbefore a Kisumu court, Governor Stephen Sang was charged with malicious damage,incitement and abuse of office.

He however deniedthe three charges and was released on a Ksh 1 million bond or Ksh 500,000 cashbail.

Last weekon Friday and Saturday, Governor Stephen Sang led residents to clear Kibwari teaestate before going underground after the incident.

He however made his first public appearance on Monday before he was taken in for questioning.

Police wereforced to lobby teargas in the air to disperse the governor’s supporters beforehe was whisked away to Kisumu for further interrogation.
