Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and Wife Susan Wangari have both denied the charges leveled against them.
Governor Waitutiu has been charged for irregular issuance of tender worth 588 million and embezzlement of public funds.

The Kiambu Governor was charged alongside his wife and four others over allegations of tender irregularities for upgrading roads worth Ksh 588 million.
“Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu Babayao together with his wife and others have today appeared before Chief Magistrate Hon. Lawrence Mogambi to answer multiple corruption charges. The accused have denied the charges.

The Governor and his co-accused were arrested by @EACCKenya over allegations of tender irregularities for upgrading of roads worth 588M and embezzlement of public funds. The accused are currently before the Anti-Corruption Court, Milimani where hearing of bail plea is ongoing.” Said, EACC
