Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been requested to turn himself in following a warrant of arrest issued against him by DPP Noordin Hajji.
In a request by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to the governor, Waititu has been requested to turn himself in at the Commission’s headquarter in Nairobi.
Last evening DPP Noordin Hajji approved the arrest of Governor Waititu, wife Susan Wangai, Engineer Luka Mwangi and four other suspects.

The warrant of arrest was issued in regard to irregular tenders amounting to Ksh 588 million during the upgrading of the County’s infrastructure among others.

On Saturday morning, three suspects in the alleged graft have already been arrested by EACC detectives and they include the Director of Testimony Enterprises Ltd Charles Chege, Evaluation Committee Members Joyce Ng’ina and Simon Kabocho.

Other charges leveled against Governor Waititu include abuse of office, conflict of interest and failure to comply with laws regarding procurement.
