Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu has on Thursday released after he raised the Ksh 15 million cash bail.
The Kiambu Governor who spent the better of the week in a police cell saw the release of his wife Susan Ndungu who was released on Wednesday after she was able to raise Ksh 4 million cash bail.
Waititu was charged alongside his wife over an alleged graft of Ksh 588 million in tenders issued in the rehabilitation of infrastructure in his county.

The two were arrested alongside Kiambu County Chief Executive Officer who was also granted Ksh 15 million cash bail.
On Wednesday, the Kiambu Governor was trending after failing to raise the cash bail, money which is considered “little to him”
The backlash follows previous interviews of the governor that quoted him saying he was a rich man and has done a lot for his County.

He continues by saying that investigations into his wealth will shock many as he is a wealthy man from way back.
Waititu bragged at how he owned a Mercedes Benz and a Range Rover when he was not yet a Governor.
