Governor Wamatangi promises to sack corrupt county officials

Newly-elected Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatngi has promised to sack corrupt county officials if found guilty of the crime.

Speaking during a function, Wamatangi called on those hired t work in various positions and dockets planning to make themselves rich by looting public resources to make sure they go into hiding.

He continued by promising corrupt officials that once arrested he will personally make sure they are sent home without blinking an eye.

The statement by Wamatangi is similar to that issued by several other newly-elected Governors across the country as they take their first time in office.

Kisii Governor Simba Arati conducted an overhead count of all county drivers after it was established that over 200 of them were employed to drive 82 county vehicles. The exercise was meant to weed out ghost employees.

In Trans-Nzoia County, Governor George Natembeya is now fighting laziness among County staff by being an example. On his first day in the office, Natembeya arrived at 7 am to supervise the cleaning of the offices before heading to the gate at 8 am to check those arriving late for work.
