Griezmann suffered muscle injury, confirms Barcelona

Barcelona has confirmed that Antoine Griezmann suffered muscle injury during the weekend clash at Valladolid.

In a statement issued by the La Liga giants, they said the former Atletico Madrid star underwent several tests before he was found to have suffered quadriceps muscle injury in his right leg.

Its is due to the injury that the forward will not be available anytime soon with the medical team in Barcelona monitoring his progress.

“Tests this morning have shown that Antoine Griezmann has a quadriceps muscle injury in his right leg. He is not available for selection and the evolution of the injury will condition his availability.” Said Barcelona

The news comes a day after the lethal forward came off the field and was replaced by Luis Suarez in a match they won 1-0 and pile pressure on leaders Real Madrid.

At the moment, the Catalans lie in second position, a point behind Real Madrid who are a win a way to clinch the La Liga trophy.
