History made as Ukambani leaders sign an agreement

History has been made on Saturday when Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua, Charity Ngilu and Kivutha Kibwana came together for the first joint Machakos, Kitui and Makueni meeting.

The three leaders met at Governor Mutua’s office where they signed the South Eastern Kenya Economic Bloc (SEKEB) agreement.

“Today is a historic day in the fight against poverty in Ukambani. The signing of this South Eastern Kenya Economic Bloc (SEKEB)agreement provides us, the three Governors a chance to jointly provide rapid, result based leadership for the great people of Ukambani.” Said Governor Mutua.

Through SEKEB, the three counties will be able to lobby the National Government and Externally as a unit.

They will also handle cross cutting issues together to ensure that their people have money in their pockets in a bid to improve their lives.

Congratulating the three governors was Kabando Wa Kabando who said “Congratulations @governorkibwana @DrAlfredMutua @mamangilu on progress South Eastern Kenya Economic Block (SEKEB). Ukambani showing the way. For devolution to anchor, prosper @KenyaGovernors, ECONOMIC BLOCKs the way to go. Kudos!”
