Hong Kong oil tanker explosion kills one

One person is feared dead after an oil tanker exploded in the southern waters of Hong Kong on Tuesday morning.

At least 21 people were rescued during the horrific explosion that shook windows several kilometers away.

A police spokesperson said that some of the crew have not saved following the blast.

She could also not provide the name of the ship but pictures making rounds on social media show the ships name as Aulac Fortune.

The ships last data indicate that it was loaded with 6,000 litres of gasoline and was to deliver in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

Residents from the nearby Lantau Island narrate the whole ordeal by saying that they had a big blast that shook doors and windows.

They came out in numbers as they wondered what had just blasted causing their windows and doors to shake.
