Embattled Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa has written to FIFA confirming his resumption to the office with immediate effect.
Through a letter dated September 8th, the former FKF President noted that the federation has made significant progress toward complying with the FIFA directive dated February 24th, 2022 thus requesting them to lift the ban against the country.
“I hereby wish to inform your good office that I have resumed my duties as the FKF President with immediate effect, in accordance with article 42 of the FKF constitution(2017).

The federation has made significant progress towards complying with the FIFA directive of February 24, 2022, with a meeting scheduled in the coming days with the newly elected Kenyan government, to actualize the lifting of the FIFA suspension and Kenya’s return to International football,” Read the statement
Nick Mwendwa was first arrested back in November after the government disbanded the federation and set up a caretaker committee to undertake football activities in the country.
He was accused of misappropriation of Ksh 38 million, allegations that the government failed to prove in court leading to his release.
