The Ministry of Internal and coordination of National Government through CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i has declared Friday 31st July as a public holiday to celebrate Idd-ul-azha.
All Muslim faithful will mark the holiday to honor the obedience of Abraham when he was called upon by the Lord to sacrifice his only son Isaac.
The celebrations will be marked in a special way unlike the other years following the coronavirus pandemic that has rocked the whole world.
Interior PS Karanja Kibocho has already notified all Muslims to ensure that they follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Inter-Faith Council.
“All Muslim faithful celebrating the 2020 Idd-ul-Azha holiday on Friday, July 31st, are urged to physical distance and strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the M.O.H and the Inter-Faith Council on COVID-19.”
