Idris Sultan a Tanzanian comedian has sent his heartfelt apology to President John Magufulu following the face swap photos.
Addressing the media Idris Sultan explained that the face swap had no ill intent but to wish the President a happy birthday in a unique way.
He further stated that he had been cooperating with authorities investigating him following the incident.

A special tribunal was formed to deliberate on the matter before a decision is made whether to proceed to court or not.
Sultan pointed out how important the matter was to the entertainment industry in Tanzania as players and stakeholders are following it up.
The news comes barely a day after singer Rosa Ree was banned for six months by Basata of Tanzania over his explicit video with Kenyan singer Timmy Tdat.
Rosa also stands two other counts of releasing a video without verification from the regulators and collaborating with an artist without a contract.
The ban will see the Tanzanian bad girl unable to perform within and outside the country for the six months under the ban.
