Azimio la Umoja has accused the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC) CEO Hussein Marjan of recruiting his wife as the Mombasa Returning Officer.
Speaking from Upper hill, Nairobi former Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi accused the Commission of plotting a scheme to rig elections in the county by recruiting his wife which is infact a conflict of interest.
“In Mombasa, it is unfortunate that the IEBC CEO Marjan Marjan recruited his wife to be Mombasa county’s returning officer. That is a conflict of interest and there is a scheme to deny the people of Mombasa their will by rigging,” said Fatuma Gedi

Gedi continued by informing the Commission that the Azimio coalition has an elaborate plan to ensure that the Mombasa and Kakamega elections are free and fair.
The coalition has further accused the commission through the CEO of planning to rig not only the Mombasa election but also the Kakamega election as well.
“”As we go to Mombasa, we want to tell the CEO Marjan, we know you have planned to use your wife to rig the election in Mombasa, Kakamega, and the other constituencies,” said Gedi
The allegations by the former Woman Rep. are among many other accusations surrounding the commission and leveled by Azimio presidential candidate Hon. Raila Odinga who threatened to release events before, during and after the elections.
