Speaking during the hearing, the committee noted that Igathe had already been cleared by IEBC and thus he had been cleared to vie for the gubernatorial seat under the Jubilee ticket.
Bush noted that the Azimio One Kenya candidate was unfit for the position as he had resigned as Mike Sonko’s deputy without any notice as required by law. He requested the committee to block for abandoning his duty.
The news come at a time when fellow candidate Senator Johnson Sakaja is under investigation over the validity of his degree certificate from Uganda.
The Commission of University Education (CUE) revoked his certificate and requested more time to investigate the certificate from Team University in Uganda. University of Nairobi had already confirmed that the Senator is yet to graduate in Actuarial Science, a course he began in 2003.
