The Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC) has pushed the deadline for parties to name their Presidential running mate from April 28th to May 16th.
The new date was confirmed following a successful meeting between IEBC, Azimio One Kenya Alliance and Kenya Kwanza coalition leaders.
On Monday IEBC confirmed that the set meeting had been postponed to Tuesday following the death of former President Mwai Kibaki who lies in State at parliament building for three days to allow Kenyans mourn him.

Initially, the commission had issued an April 28th deadline which was questioned by many politicians who said that it was an order that is not published anyone under the constitution of Kenya.
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed who was at Anniversary building on Monday said the question of running mate is currently not in the picture as alot is ongoing in the country and political atmosphere.
Kenyans are eager as to who will be Raila and DP William Ruto’s running mates with pressure to appoint a leader from Central mounts for both coalitions.
