Interior PS Karanja Kibicho reveals battle with COVID-19

Interior Permanent Secretary (PS) Eng. Karanja Kibicho has on Saturday revealed his battle with COVID-19.

He was speaking in Kirinyaga County when he confirmed that he contracted the disease and recovered after undergoing the necessary treatment.

The PS was speaking as he educated mourners at the funeral he had attended that having the virus is not a death sentence as perceived by people.

He continued by giving his example on how he overcame it and that out of 100 people with the virus, only two die from it.

Kenyans have been urged by the PS to get tested and that those infected should be cared for and that people should stop the stigma that comes from the disease.

According to the PS, those cared for tend to heal faster than others thus the need to embrace those with the virus.

At the same time, Kenyans have been advised to observe the laid down guidelines by the Ministry of Health to overcome and stop the spread of the disease.

The cumulative number of deaths now stand at 1,441, confirmed cases 81,656 and recoveries at 54,125.
