Itumbi’s arrest is a strategy to divert attention, Murkomen

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has called the arrest of Dennis Itumbi as diversion of attention into the La Mada meeting.

Speaking shortly after the arrest of Dennis Itumbi at a restaurant in Nairobi, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen asked if there was really a meeting at Hotel La Mada.

Murkomen proceeded to ask if the PS in charge of DCI say Ruto must be stopped Saitoti Way, who complained about the assassination and to who?

The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator finished off by noting that the authenticity of the allegation is more important than the letter.

Who complained about the assassination? And to who? The authenticity of the allegations is more important than a letter.” Said Hon. Murkomen

In their defense, CS Peter Munya (Trade), CS Sicily Kariuki (Health), CS Joe Mucheru (ICT) said that the meeting was on development issues of Mt. Kenya.

They further said that the allegation are serious especially when they come from a person of the stature of the Deputy President occupying the most powerful seat in the country.

He further added it is very unfair that the allegations portray them in a very bad light making them look like criminals thus affecting their reputations.

The three CS’s also added that they did not record any statements as there was no written complaint against them.

As a matter of fact, they revealed that they are open to working with the DP to enable the government to achieve its objectives.
