Businessman turned politician Jimmy Wanjigi has on Tuesday been arrested and taken to Kamukunji police station for questioning.
The arrest follows an 18-hour standoff between the businessman and a contigent of armed police who had camped outside his Kwacha offices in Westlands, Nairobi.
Before his arrest, the police were filmed trying to break into his house after Jimmy Wanjigi denied them access.

Speaking to the media, Wanjigi noted that the matter was being by his lawyers who had sought orders from the court blocking them from gaining entry into his house.
Jimmy Wanjigi was arrested over alleged illegal purchase of parcel of land in Westlands, a high end area where the business has set his company.
The business further accused the police of disobeying court orders that blocked them from arresting him. Earlier during the day, his supporters camped outside his house calling for his release.
Wanjigi was quoted in a previous interview blaming President Uhuru Kenyatta for the troubles he is facing as he accused former Prime Minister Raila Odinga of sharing tables with man behind the woes he is facing.
