Kakamega five- seaters famously known as Maruti have been ordered to stop their operations.
Giving the order is Kakamega OCPD Joseph Chebii who said that the town service vehicles have not compiled with the law.
It is said that the five-seaters were initially licensed to offer taxi services are now being used as public service vehicles.
According to the operators, they have complied with all the rules and are wondering why they are being blocked from operating.
On Monday morning, the operators received an order warning that they will be impounded if they are seen operating yet according to them they have complied with all traffic rules.
The Kakamega operators have planned to conduct a peaceful demonstration to the office of the OCPD before they march to the office of the Governor to seek clarification on the crackdown.
