Kalonzo, Martha Karua conferred Senior Counsel by Uhuru

President Uhuru Kenyatta has conferred Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Martha Karua to the rank of Senior Counsel.

In a notice shared by State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena, the leaders rose through the ranks due to their recommendable work in the legal and public service arena.

“His Excellency the President has on this twentieth day of July 2020 set Senior Counsel to twenty-four eminent and distinguished Advocates of the High Court of Kenya.

The Presidential Prerogative to confer the rank and dignity of senior is set-out under the Advocates Act .

The rank of Senior Counsel is conferred in accordance with the recommendations of the committee of Senior Counsel, to Advocates of the High Court of Kenya who have distinguished themselves by rendering exemplary service in the legal and public service arena.” Said Kanze Dena.

The 24 advocates accorded the status include;

  4. Dr. Fackson Wainaina Kagwe
  5. Pravin Kumar Bowry
  6. Charles Waweru Gatonye
  7. Rautta Athiambo
  8. Fredrick Ngatia
  9. Mohammed Nyaoga
  10. Philip Murgor
  11. Albert Mumma
  12. Beautah Alukhva Siganga
  13. Kiragu Kimani
  14. Judy Thongori
  15. Taib Ali Taib Bajabir
  16. Zehrabanu Janmohamed
  17. Wilfred Nderitu
  18. John. M. Ohaga
  19. Kioko Kilukumi
  20. Patricia Mande Nyaundi
  21. Dorcas Agik Odhong Oduor
  22. Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed

A date will soon be announced by the Head of State to celebrate the conferment and the Advocates will be notified of the same.
