French striker Karim Benzema has confirmed he will miss the Qatar World Cup after tearing up a muscle during a training exercise.
Taking on social media, the Real Madrid striker noted how he has never given up but he has been forced to think about the whole team and leave behind someone who can help them through.

“In my life I have never given up… but tonight I have to think of the team as I have always done so reason tells me to leave my place to someone who can help our group to make a great world cup. Thank you for all your messages of support” Said Benzema.
Benzema now joins Sadio Mane of Senegal who pulled of the competition after sustaining an injury. The two players are not only important players but people favourites.
