Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) soldiers have on Friday killed ten newly recruited Al Shabaab militants and injuring several others in the process.
Several weapons and assorted ammunitions were recovered after the attack in addition to personal effects. The militants are reported to be part of Jeysh Ayman recruited by one Maalim Ayman who has been planning a number of attacks along the Lamu Port South Sudan transport corridor.
“On 1st July, Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) troops carried out an operation between Sarira and Kolbio areas within the expansive Boni Forest.

During the operation, ten newly graduated Al Shabaab terrorists were killed as others escaped with multiple injuries. One (1) rocket propelled grenade launcher(RPG), several assault weapons, assorted ammunition as well as personal effects were recovered furing the operation.
The militants are part of the Jeysh Ayman team led by Maalin Ayman who had planned to carry out attacks with the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport Corridor.” Said KDF
KDF has confirmed continued security along the Kenya-Somalia border to ensure that all Al Shabaab terrorists are dealt with.
