Kenya has on Tuesday confirmed 397 cases of coronavirus raising the number of confirmed cases in the country to 14,168.
The new cases comprise of 389 Kenyans and 8 foreigners aged between 1-year and 90-years.The number of males is 236 while that of females is 161.
“Today, 397 people have tested positive for the disease from a sample size of 3,637 tested. This now brings to 14,168 our case load in the country and our cumulative tests now stand at 249,998.
From the 397 cases, 389 are Kenyans and 8 are foreigners, 236 are males, and 161 are females. The youngest is a one-year-old infant, while the oldest is 90.
The 397 cases are distributed in the Counties of Nairobi 239, Kiambu 33, Machakos 27, Nyeri 17, Busia 16, Nakuru 12, Mombasa 12, Kajiado 10, Migori 8, Uasin Gishu 8, Kericho 5, Narok 3, Laikipia 3, Kisii 1, Kisumu 1, Lamu 1, and Nyandurua 1.” Said Dr. Rashid Aman.
At the same time, a total of 642 patients recovered from the virus, 587 of them being from home-based care with 55 being discharged from various hospitals across the country.This now brings the total number of recoveries to 6,258.

“I am happy to inform you that 642 patients have recovered. Out of this number 587 are from the home based care program, while 55 have been discharged from various hospitals, bringing our total number of recoveries to 6,258.” Said Dr. Aman
In the same 24 hours, 12 patients died from the virus bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 250.
“Today, we have lost 12 patients to the disease. Our fatality now stands at 250. We want to pass our sincere condolences to the family & friends of all those who have lost their loved ones.” Said Dr. Aman
