Kenya through the Ministry of Health has confirmed 497 new cases of coronavirus bringing the number of confirmed cases to 10,791.
The new cases are from 4,922 samples tested raising the accumulative samples tested so far to 221234.
Speaking on Tuesday, CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi noted 480 of the new patients are Kenyans while 17 are foreigners with the number of males being 318 while females being 179.

In terms of age, the new cases range between 2-years and the oldest being 89-years.
At the same time, Dr. Mercy Mwangangi noted that 71 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours bringing the total of recoveries to 3,017.
On a sad note, 5 patients succumbed to the virus bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 202.
