Kenya has on Friday confirmed 723 new cases of COVID-19 from a sample size of 8679 samples.
The accumulative number of samples tested so far now stands at 303,959 with the number of confirmed cases standing at 20,638.

Out of 723 cases, 700 of them are Kenyans with 23 being females.The number of males are 450 with females being 273. In terms of age distribution the youngest is 9 months and the oldest is 87-years.
“Kenya today has recorded 723 new Covid-19 cases out of a Sample test of 8,679. Today’s Covid-19 cases include 700 Kenyans and 23 foreigners; Youngest is 9 months old, oldest 87 years.
Nairobi continues to lead with the highest Covid-19 cases (436), followed by Nakuru 83, Mombasa 48, Kiambu 45, Turkana 12, & Uasin Gishu 10.”Said Ministry of Health
On a positive note, 44 patients recovered from the virus with 24 of them being patients from home-based care and 20 from various hospitals.This now brings to 8,165 the number of recoveries in the country.
Sadly, 16 patients died from the virus bringing the number of fatalities in the country to 341 the number of fatalities.
Speaking to the nation, CS Mutahi Kagwe ruled out the notion that the virus is fatal to old people confirming that some of the dead are aged between 24-years and 28-years.
He noted rumors making round that his Ministry has relaxed in terms of contact tracing saying that it is a good thing that people are concerned about the exercise.
