Kenya has on Thursday confirmed the highest 447 new cases of coronavirus bringing the total confirmed number of cases to 8,975.
Addressing Kenyans from Mombasa on Thursday, CS Mutahi Kagwe confirmed 280 of the new cases are male while 167 were female between the age of 1-year and 88-years.
“Today, 447 samples have tested positive for the virus from a sample size of 3,803. The cumulative number of tests conducted so far now stands at 200,311 and the total case load in the country is 8,975.” Said MOH
At the same time, the Ministry of Heath confirmed to have discharged 64 patients bring the total of recoveries to 2,657.

On a sad note, 4 patients succumbed to the virus raising the number of fatalities to 173 since the first case was confirmed.
Residents of Mombasa have been warned against group activities following reports that it is leading in the number of fatalities.
The County Government of Mombasa has been praised for the measures it has undertaken to contain the virus.
