Kenya coronavirus cases rise by 254 to 5,206

Kenya has on Wednesday confirmed an additional 254 cases of cornavirus raising the national tally to 5,206.

The new cases are from a samples size of 4,859 in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of samples tested so far to 151,396.

“In the last 24 hours, we have tested 4,859 samples, out of which, 254 people have tested positive for the virus. The cumulative number of tests conducted so far is now 151,396 and the total case load in the country is 5,206.”

All the new cases are Kenyans aged between 4-years and 92-years.The number of males are 186 as that of females being 68.

“All the positive cases are Kenyans, with 186 being males and 68 females. The youngest is four years old and the oldest 92 years.”

127 of the new cases were from Nairobi, Mombasa 36, Migori 29, Kajiado 22, Kiambu 12, Busia 9, Uasin Gishu 5,Muranga 3, Machakos 2, Kilifi 2 as Nakuru, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Isiolo, Garissa, Kakamega and Kisii had a case each.

Confirming the new cases was CAS Mercy Mwangangi who said the Ministry of Health has discharged a total of 41 new patients bringing the number of recoveries to 1,823.

Two more people sadly passed away in the last 24 hours bringing the number of those who have succumbed to the virus to 130.

“Today, we have discharged 41 patients from various hospitals, bringing the tally of recoveries to 1,823. Sadly, we have lost 2 more patients to the disease, bringing the total number of those who have succumbed to 130.”
